Cassie Sainsbury’s Fiancé Admits To “Many Unanswered Questions” In Case

Scott Broadbridge, the fiancé of accused drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury, has spoken about his fears for Sainsbury’s wellbeing in a Colombian prison.
However, the 23-year-old did not respond to media requests for more details regarding Sainsbury’s trip to the South American nation.
Appearing alongside lawyer Stephen Kenny in Adelaide this morning, Broadbridge said “it is extremely stressful for her, but we are able to talk almost every day and that is a great comfort for both of us.”

He said his partner is “concerned” about the conditions of El Buen Pastor prison, and reiterated that it’s “very difficult for her not knowing anyone in the country.”

Broadbridge admitted “there are many unanswered questions in this case,” and questions directed to Kenny were met with similar responses.

When asked if he knew who in Hong Kong purchased Sainsbury’s ticket to Colombia, Kenny said “I don’t have the answers to a lot of the questions that have been in the media of recent, and neither does Scott for that matter.”

Regarding the exact dates and destinations of Sainsbury’s trip, Kenny said “no, I probably can’t give you a timeline.” Similarly, Kenny answered a question over whether Broadbridge was aware of her travel plans by saying “I think there are still a lot of things that we need to investigate.”
Kenny intimated that neither he nor Broadbridge were aware of any ties Sainsbury had in Colombia that would require her to travel there for a week.
Earlier, Broadbridge had responded to claims that Sainsbury owed money to several individuals after her gym failed by saying “there absolutely were no debts… She ran a business and it didn’t work out. She’s just an ordinary girl with aspirations.”
