Attention Weird Doco Fans: Louis Theroux Is Doing A Speaking Tour Of Aus

British documentary filmmaker Louis Theroux, known for his popular documentary series like Weird Weekends and When Louis Met… is embarking on a speaking tour of Australia in September.

He’s known best for looking a little bit awkward as he covers meeting everyone from neo-Nazis to pornstars to Californian swingers. It’s well overdue to have his half-confused/half-smiling face appear on our golden shores. He’s excited to come, saying:

“I couldn’t be more excited about doing these live shows in Australia. It will be my first time Down Under and my first time doing ambitious shows of this kind. For me, making my programmes is quite a private process. They are about forging a human connection with people whose lives are at the outermost edge of what we as people experience: the most forbidden impulses, the most frightening lifestyles, the most traumatic turns of event.”

He’s going to be talking about filmmaking, how he works and how he communicates with some of the weirdest people on the planet. ABC personality Julia Zemiro is going to be hosting.
Tickets will be on sale from March 21st.
