The anonymous woman behind Instagram account @houseofeffie, who first posted allegations against Armie Hammer has publicly come forward.
The woman, who goes by the pseudonym ‘Effie’ spoke during a press conference with her attorney Gloria Allred on Tuesday. However, it’s worth noting that her lawyer refused to confirm or deny whether she was behind the House of Effie Instagram account.
“I thought that he was going to kill me,” the woman said.
According to Effie, the situation in question took place in 2017.
“On April 24, 2017, Armie Hammer violently raped me for over four hours in Los Angeles,” Effie said, “During which he repeatedly slapped my head against a wall bruising my face. He also committed other acts of violence against me to which I did not consent.”
Effie’s allegations claim that Hammer allegedly beat her feet “so they would hurt” every day and that she tried to escape “but he wouldn’t let her.”
Additionally, she claims she would try to get away from Armie, “but he wouldn’t let me.”
It’s worth noting that Armie has denied the allegation, with his lawyer telling Variety that his interactions with Effie, and all women, were “completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory.”
“Effie’s own correspondence with Mr. Hammer undermines and refutes her outrageous allegations. As recently as July 18, 2020, [she] sent graphic texts to Mr. Hammer telling him what she wanted him to do to her. Mr. Hammer responded making it clear that he did not want to maintain that type of relationship with her,” Brettler told Variety.
“It was never Mr. Hammer’s intention to embarrass or expose [Effie’s] fetishes or kinky sexual desires, but she has now escalated this matter to another level by hiring a civil lawyer to host a public press conference. With the truth on his side, Mr. Hammer welcomes the opportunity to set the record straight,” the statement continues. “From day one, Mr. Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with [Effie] — and every other sexual partner of his for that matter — have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory. [Effie’s] attention seeking and ill-advised legal bid will only make it more difficult for real victims of sexual violence to get the justice they deserve.”
In addition to denying the allegations, Armie’s lawyer sent a screenshot of a previous text message between the pair to variety, in which Armie appears to have ended the relationship.
“I am not going to be able to engage in you in that specific way right now. It never ends well. We can talk and be friends, but I can’t do that,” Armie reportedly said in the text.
The allegations come after Armie Hammer was the subject of a bombshell expose last week.
Armie Hammer is currently the suspect of an LAPD alleged sexual assault allegation.
“We can confirm that Armie Hammer is the main suspect in an alleged sexual assault investigation that was initiated Feb. 3 of this year,” a spokesperson for the LAPD tells Variety.
