A Scorching Heatwave Is A-Comin’ So Bail On Your Plans To Avoid Melting

Ahh, the Australian summer. Zooper Doopers, the beach, accidentally eating sand when you order fish and chips on the beach. Applying 50+ SPF sunscreen. Delicious summer stone fruits.
We really have it preeeeetty, pretty, pretty good.
Oh, apart from when it gets like MENTAL hot, and then we all have to stay indoors because our country is apparently located like, metres from the sun, and if we go outside our skin will peel off and we’ll probably perish. It’s a fine line.
This week is looking to be more like the latter – The Bureau of Meterology has hiked it’s predictions way up to the high 30s for Australia‘s south-east, particularly Sydney and the western suburbs.
NSW gets a break on Monday – it’ll hit around 28º, which is completely fine and okay. But Sydney‘s looking at 34º – 35º degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Sydney‘s western suburbs will cop it even more with 37 & 38 degrees on those same days.
Majority of the major cities will feel the rising mercury over those 2 – 3 days (apart from Perth. You guys are so chill, it’s crazy). Melbourne going to cop 30º – 34º over the first three days of the week, and Adelaide‘s gonna be hooooooot – it’ll reach 36º Monday and 34º on Tuesday.
Honestly, look how much dark orange is on this map. LOOK AT IT. Bloody ridiculous:
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a ‘Heatwave Warning‘ in certain areas, particularly coastal areas.
But, it looks like Sydney & surrounds will feel the worst:
However, sweet relief will come. There’ll be a mad cool change on Wednesday evening or Thursday.
They reckon temps will drop massively: Sydney will receive a drop of around 13 – 14º, and Melbourne‘s prediction for Thursday shows a top of 20º.
