The eternally adorable Ed Sheeran has announced that new music – his first in 18 months – is coming Friday, and fans are bloody shook.
The singer took to Twitter in his second only post since taking a break from social media over a year ago to announce the news in a delightfully naff video.

Ugh. You just want to fly to wherever he is and hang out and make tea, you know?
It’s been over two-and-a-half years since his last album (June 2014’s ‘x‘, pronounced ‘multiply’) and over 18 months since his last single, so naturally fans have approximately zero chill over this news.
EVERYONE CALM DOWN. ED SHEERAN IS RELEASING NEW MUSIC ON FRIDAY AND WE ARE ALL SAVED.
THANK YOU, 2017. THANK YOU.

And uh… those ‘fans’ include a certain car-croonin’ English bloke, so could 2017 bring us an Ed Sheeran ‘Carpool Karaoke‘?
Well, @edsheeran has already made 2017 epic as far as I’m concerned. #friday
