Ed Sheeran, man of many love songs, has teased a lil’ something-something on his social media this morning. Is it new music? I mean, probably.
In a cryptic post on Instagram, Sheeran told fans to expect a “Christmas present” at “11am GMT tomorrow”, which is 9pm Monday AEST.
While the artist didn’t share any more specific details about his new project, he did change his Instagram bio and profile picture to his latest post. Sounds like new music, if you ask me.
Sheeran also shared an Instagram story of himself holding a guitar, which looks like a teeny tiny snippet from a music video. Maybe, I’m just spitballing here.
Either way, the fans are not okay.

Last week, while responding to a fan’s comment on Instagram about new music, Sheeran hinted that it was on the way.
“All very valid questions, but you know at least one answer soon x,” he wrote.
In another comment, he wrote: “Lurky lurk… and it’s very soon x.”
Last December, Sheeran announced that he was taking a well-earned break from music and social media.
“The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over it’s time to go out and see more of the world,” Sheeran shared in a post on Instagram at the time.
“I’ve been a bit non stop since 2017 so I’m just gonna take a breather to travel, write and read. I’ll be off all social media until it’s time to come back.”
Staying true to his word, Sheeran stayed away from social media and only returned briefly to announce the birth of his bub Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.
“We are completely in love with her,” he shared. “Both mum [Cherry Seaborn] and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.”
