Win The Keys To Your Very Own Customised Kombi Van

Try and think of an instance in pop culture history where a Kombi van has been used for purposes of evil. See? It can’t be done. That’s because Kombi vans are synonymous with feel good times, road trips and awesome movie music montages.

Oddball family brought together by golden Kombi van for ensuing warmth of hearts underscored by an awesome soundtrack (Sufjan Stevens and Rick James)? That’d be Little Miss Sunshine.

Boy meets girl, boy gets separated from girl, boy finds his way back to girl through hitching a ride in tricked out mural-clad Kombi with a loveable bunch of legends set to similarly feel-good soundtrack of original Australian music? Sounds like Bran Nue Dae.

Highly-strung henchmen pursue Michael J. Fox in a Kombi and force him to go back in time, set to a Huey Lewis, Etta James and Chuck Berry soundtrack? That would have to be Back To The Future.

So it’s settled then? Kombi vans, good company and a great soundtrack have made for a winning formula for quite a while. If you’ve ever wanted to join the automotive cult of the Kombi then now’s the time, because adidas Originals and Foot Locker are giving you the chance to apply this winning formula to your own life by offering you the keys to your very own customised Kombi van. All you have to do is make like McFly and create the mixtape soundtrack to your life!

All adidas Originals and Foot Locker are asking you to do is submit a mixtape that best represents your crew. You’ll first have to join the 8tracks community (for free) and create a playlist of eight tracks that conveys your crew’s originality. Add to that your adidas Originals inspired cover art (see above and below for some inspiration) and tag it with ‘represent‘. Easy.

8tracks and adidas will choose a winner based on originality and creativity, the mixtape’s cover image and how well the whole package represents the crew.

Entries close on September 4th. You can find out more information and submit your entry here via the 8tracks website. Good luck!
