WATCH: The Smith Street Band Gets A Cute Robot M8 In New Tune ‘Birthdays’

You’d be absolutely mugging yourself if you stated that not even a small, tiny part of you wanted a cool-ass robot for a best friend when you were a wee kid.
It would’ve hung out with you. It would’ve helped you do dumb hard stuff like maths. It would’ve been able to chuck mad kickflips on a skateboard (probably). The best.
The good lads in The Smith Street Band have thought long and hard about it too, and have explored that glorious alternate reality in the brand-spankin’ new film clip for their just-released single ‘Birthdays.’
And more to that, the Melbourne group also announced their new album, ‘More Scared of You Than You Are of Me,’ which is set to be released on Friday, April 7th.
Birthdays,’ which some of you might’ve been clued into thanks to the band running a sneaky Valentine’s Day birthday card mailout campaign over the past week, follows frontbloke/footy diehard Wil Wagner‘s chance encounter with a stranger on a pier in Hobart.

The new LP, which also features ‘Death to the Lads,’ the tune that pulled in a mighty 21st place in this year’s Hottest 100, is available for pre-order now via the band’s own newly launched Pool House Records label.
Get around them!
