Not unlike the filling in a fairy bread sandwich – thousands of buttery sweet, technicolour moments sandwiched between two slices of the whitest bread imaginable – Lorde and Taylor Swift’s friendship is the stuff of blog legend.
A matter evidently dear to your heart and closely aligned with your personal brand, their friendship is today the subject of an excerpt from the former’s appearance overnight on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, during which Lorde expounded on her and Swift’s friendship origin story.
In short, Swift gifted Lorde a bunch of flowers and their nascent bond was forged over thick shakes and identity theft at pre-Grammys parties. What does not warrant mentioning is that those flowers were sent as a peace offering after Lorde labelled Swift “so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don’t think it’s breeding anything good in young girls.”
What a difference a shake makes.
