This was bound to happen sooner or later.
The past few years, Jimmy Kimmel has sent film crews along to Coachella with the express purpose of using people’s own fear of looking uncool or not in the know against them.
The resulting Lie Witness News videos became huge hits, utilising the egos of the ever-so-slightly pretentious and getting them to state they’ve absolutely heard of, and are fans of, completely made-up bands.
But you can only run a prank so many times before everyone starts to catch on. And at this year’s festival, people weren’t having a bar of it.
Kimmel’s luck appears to have finally run out, with a swathe of people simply not giving the film crew’s trickery anything.
It’s kind of magnificent in a tables-have-turned sorta way.
Come on, though. “The Vegan Alternatives“? That’s barely even bothering to try.
