Wall Street Journal Gets The Skinny On Skinny Jeans

While the most savage of economic downturns rages on the Wall Street Journal takes a break from covering World Finance and sends a field reporter to the mecca of East Coast Hipsterdom – Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg to discuss the true ball breaker of modern society – skinny jeans. Wait, what?

This video is hilarious for numerous reasons: the proliferation of the term “skinny on skinny”, the calculated nonchalance with which Brooklyn bros justify their sperm killers, but mainly because skinny jeans have been so ubiquitous for so long that doing a report on them now is kinda like doing a trend-piece on the popularity of these new things called “t-shirts”.

The Wall Street Journal are either five years too late or ten years too early – either way out of touch trend pieces like this are welcome anytime of the year. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off to buy a pair of meggings…
