Tyler, The Creator has publicly addressed the gross tweets he made about Selena Gomez on his new album, ten years after he fired off a bunch of deeply NSFW tweets about her while she was dating Justin Bieber.

Tyler dropped his new album, Call Me If You Get Lost on June 25, including the track ‘Manifesto‘. In the track, Tyler raps about the offensive tweets about then 18-year-old Selena, and how he later apologised to her – explaining he made them when he was “trying to fuck Bieber.”

The third verse kicks in with Tyler rapping that he’s “come a long way” from the person he was a decade a year ago, noting that the internet has taken issue with his past lyrics, and that he was “canceled” long before it was a social media phenomenon.

“I was canceled before canceled was with Twitter fingers (Haha),” Tyler raps.

“Protestin’ outside my shows, I gave them the middle finger (Fuck ’em).”

He then goes on to focus on the Selena Gomez tweets from 2010 and 2011 in particular, saying that he apologised to her about them when he saw her.

He also implied that his jealousy of her dating Justin was the reason he fired off the string of wildly explicit tweets, which included posts like “@selenagomez is now 18. so she can now legally take my dick in her fucking ass” and “Dakota Fanning And Miley And Selena Are All Gonna Take My Dick Weather (sic.) They Like It Or Not. Fucking Broads.”

“I was a teener, tweetin’ Selena crazy shit,” Tyler raps.

“Didn’t wanna offend her, apologize when I seen her, back when I was tryna fuck Bieber, Just-in.”

The majority of Tyler’s aggressive tweets appear to have been removed except a couple of select ones, which range from pretty tame to wildly inappropriate. The internet never ever forgets though, and screenshots obtained by BuzzFeed show the tweets he made about Selena – which finally caught up with him and got him locked out of his Twitter account last year.

At the time of writing, Selena is yet to publicly recognise her shoutout in ‘Manifesto‘, instead keeping mum about the whole thing, but we’ll absolutely let you know if she breaks her silence about the track.
