The Avalanches Are Updating Their Socials And Oh Man Oh Man Oh Man

HOLD ON TO ALL OF YOUR BUTTS, PALS. THINGS ARE HAPPENING.

The Avalanches put out one single, solitary album way back in 2000 by the name of Since I Left You. But the legacy and impact it left in its wake is still being felt today, some 16 years later.
In the decade-and-a-half since the album was released, we’ve heard dribs and drabs about what’s been going on inside the Avalanches camp, but nothing ever concrete.
The electronic group from Melbourne, chiefly comprising of Robbie Chater, James Dela Cruz, and Tony Di Blasi, have long been rumoured to be working on a follow-up album, whose production timeline has now eclipsed that of the infamous Guns N Roses spectacle known as Chinese Democracy.

But today, a hint! Or… a something, at least.
All of The Avalanches social media channels, ones that have seldom been used in the past, were updated with the same new image. This one.

The Instagram account was set up earlier today specifically for this image, but the same photo has been posted to their FacebookTwitterSoundcloud, and YouTube pages, and their official website as well.
WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN?
Honestly, we’re stuffed if we know.
It could be the first tease for the long-awaited new album.
It could be some sort of special look back at Since I Left You.
It could be in preparation for a tour announcement; particularly convenient given that a certain grassy splendour event gets announced tomorrow morning.
What we do know is that our dacks are well and truly ready to be shat.
IT’S ALL HAPPENING.
