Another brand new music festival has popped up for us lucky buggers down here in Australia. It’s called SandTunes, and it’s a big ol’ salutation to the start of summer at the flashiest part of the east coast – the Gold Coast.

In its debut year on the warm shores of Coolangatta Beach, SandTunes is set to play host to an absolutely mammoth smorgasboard of acts, including Travis Scott, Carly Rae Jepsen, Logic, JuiceWRLD, and a host of local acts like Dean Lewis, Tkay Maidza, WAAX, Cub Sport, Sampa The Great, and heaps more.
It’s the first time that Carly Rae Jepsen and Logic have ever been to Australia – and I can tell you on good authority that CRJ’s first performance in Aus is way, way overdue.

It’s also the only show that Travis Scott will be performing in Aus, so there’s a whole bunch of special vibes going on up in the butt end of the sunshine state.
Running over two huge days, SandTunes will say seeya to spring and Big Hello™ to summer, blasting it out on the beach on November 30 and December 1. It’s going to be a belter, and might I suggest that you pack your togs.
Wait hang on a second, this is the last weekend of Schoolies. Godspeed to all those Red Frogs volunteers trying to wrangle 4000 het up schoolies fans absolutely wilding out to ‘Sicko Mode‘. And I can guarantee you that there will be a high concentration of Toolies this year, simply there to catch the show.
Although it’s the only place we’ll be able to go full Sicko Mode, I’ve got all my fingers and toes crossed that Carly Rae Jepsen will drop a full headline tour. It’s what we need and deserve from the Canadian pop icon, dammit. Carly come to Melbourne in December. Come play my house and also be my best friend.
Tickets for SandTunes go on sale from midday east coast time on Wednesday, July 31 through Ticketek, and there’s a couple of sneaky little presales happening on there and through Telstra, if you really want to lock in your spot in the sand.
