UPDATE: Triple J has uploaded an HD version of the tune. Get the feck around it.
In what was easily the worst-kept secret of this year’s Splendour In The Grass, Allday confirmed literal rampant speculation by trotting out best mates The Veronicas during his set, where the trio rolled through a distinctly trap-ier version of likely next national anthem Untouched.
Billed as an “Allday & Friends” set, the 28-year-old showcased a number of good mates throughout proceedings, including Asta and Mallrat. But it was the two Origliasso’s that tore the damned house down.
Bringing frequent collaborations to their logical endpoint, Allday put his own spin on The Veronicas’ iconic hit, which just about shook the damned Mix Up stage to its muddy foundations.
It, not to put too fine a point on it, fucken slapped.
Other angles of the short appearance – which also included a spin through Restless – show just how bananas the whole affair was.
Hint: Real bananas. Real, real bananas. Smartphone city.
(Swipe through for the good shit).
Will anyone be able to top that effort on the final day of Splendour for 2019? Hard to say. It’s not impossible, but god damn that’s a high bar to clear.
