No two Strokes can agree

It’s been three long and lonesome years since The Strokes treated our ears to their musical goodness and news hit stands yesterday that the band have been having a few spats regarding upcoming fourth (and long awaited) album.

Everybody’s favourite indie front man, Julian Casablancas said, that despite the bulk of the album having already been recorded he and his band buddies are unable to agree on what tracks should be included on the album: “There is a disagreement as to whether the songs are ready,” he explained to the UK’s The Sun The Sun. “Some of the band think they are and others don’t. I’m somewhere in the middle.”

In light of their disagreements the release date of their album has been pushed back from the latter part of this year right into 2010. We’ve waited three years, so I’m guessing another few months isn’t going to hurt that badly.

We’ve already heard about Casablancas’ solo project Phrazes for the Young, which you can run down to the store on November 3 and grab a copy of. So maybe he’s focusing too much on Julian time and not enough Strokes time.

However Casablancas says it’s something to do with the band not getting enough †together time’ : ‘The problem is getting us together. We’re scattered everywhere, and apart from when we’re rehearsing we don’t see each other. We’re not like people who go to the movies together. It’s weird with the band, a band is actually a great way to ruin a friendship.’

Paints a really charming picture for a group of friends wanting to start up a band together doesn’t it? – thanks Jules x
