Good news everyone. According to Twitter, The Strokes have finished recording their fourth studio album! While the album won’t be out for a few months due to mixing and other finishing touches, frontman Julian Casablancas confirmed that the recording part was a wrap.
Said Casablancas via Twitter: “Still not going to be out for a few months-mixing, etc, but JUST finally finished it yesterday actually!?“
Bassist Nikolai Fraiture also confirmed the news via his account: “YES! It’s true. Strokes IV is DONE!! Let’s go party…“
You heard the man. The band commenced work on the album last February with producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, U2, Beck, Bjork) and while the release date was initially slated for the end of this year, studio delays, interpersonal conflicts and creative differences have now pushed it back to March 2011 (maybe). Glad they worked it all out though.
