Nicki Minaj Wins Award, Asks “What Was This For?” Mid-Acceptance Speech

The BET Awards were held yesterday, but for Nicki Minaj, it was really just a case of another day, another reason for lesser beings to lavish me with attention and praise.

Girlfriend already has a closet full of trophies at home, and at this point, the phrase “the award goes to …” is pretty much just irritating background noise.

Of course, this can lead to situations where she is pulled up on stage to receive a trophy without knowing what the bloody hell it’s for, leading to hilarious acceptance speeches like the below:

It turns out Nicki had won the Viewer’s Choice award for ‘Only’. As she later explained to ET, “I had to go … somewhere, I was trying to get myself all together, and they they were like, no, you gotta go, you won an award.”
