Folks, Halloween’s done. It’s over now. We all had a lot of fun with it, but it’s November now. Which means it’s time to put the spooky stuff away and time to break out the festive gear. Some among you may decry this early season’s greeting as being nowhere near close enough to December for your liking, but it does not matter. The signal has been thrown up. Christmas time is official on. Because Mariah Carey‘s yuletide hit of hit All I Want For Christmas Is You is officially back in the charts.

Almost like clockwork, as the calendar ticked over from October to November, Carey’s holiday-dominating bop snuck back into the singles charts on iTunes in the US, in a feat quickly picked up by social media.

It simply cannot be denied.
Much like Punxsutawney Phil popping his freeloading ass head out of his hole in February, All I Want For Christmas re-entering the charts heralds the official start of the Christmas period. And its glorious arrival was observed by holly, jolly punters all over Twitter.

2018 marks the 24th consecutive year that the song will enter (and most likely dominate) the charts, having made its mark every single year since its release way back in 1994.
For those grumps among you not quite ready to Jingle a few Bells at this point in the year, you can relax. The song has not risen back up into the Australian charts. Yet.
But it’s coming.
You know it is.
There is no escape.
