Ain’t no party like a Chris Brown party, cuz a Chris Brown party ends with an aggrieved hip-hop mogul being shot twice in the stomach and arm and rushed to the emergency room while probably swearing revenge.
Gossip monsters TMZ report that overnight, Death Row Records founder and notorious violent sociopath Suge Knight was gunned down at an MTV VMAs pre-party hosted by Brown at a club in West Hollywood.
It’s not clear what Brown was doing at the time – some say he was ‘throwing gang signs‘, our guess is he was being a smug shit in the VIP area – but eyewitnesses Apl de Ap, Tyson Beckford and Robert Ri’CHard say that they heard four shots ring out inside the club.
Knight then reportedly walked out of the club under his own power, where he was spotted by a police officer, loaded into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital for surgery.
In the ’90s, Suge Knight feuded with everybody who was anybody in hip hop. A popular conspiracy theory links him to the 1996 drive-by murders of Tupac and Biggie, and he famously dangled Vanilla Ice by his ankles from a balcony following a royalty dispute.
This is not even the first time Knight has been shot at a VMAs pre-party – in 2005, he was shot in the leg at a party organised by Kanye West, after which he filed a lawsuit claiming compensation for mental and physical pain and the loss of a $147,000 diamond earring.
Knight, who is currently recovering in intensive care, is one of three victims taken to hospital, one of whom is reportedly still in critical condition. Whatever Brown’s involvement in this mess might be, you can assume it’s probably not going to end well.
