Malcolm McLaren’s Most Appropriate Funeral Ever

Malcolm McLaren: punk hero, style icon, pop-culture pioneer – who died of cancer on 8 April at the age of 64, has had his final send off in London in the most fitting way imaginable.

The traditional memorial gesture – the minute of silence – wasn’t appropriate for a man whose favourite expression was “cash for chaos”, so, instead, McLaren’s son Ben Westwood invited mourners to participate in a “minute of mayhem” the day before the funeral: to throw on their favourite record and “let it RIP”.

A fond farewell, suitably outrageous.
