Former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson was arrested in Los Angeles overnight, after an alleged bust-up with a photographer at LAX airport.
The 25-year-old was returning from a trip to Laws Vegas with his girlfriend Eleanor Calder when he got into a row with the individual, and it is claimed that security had to separate the two.
A witness at the scene said: “Louis was really upset. After being filmed he told the snapper to stop, but he didn’t take kindly to the request. The row turned into a scuffle causing airport security to pull them apart.”
Tomlinson was arrested for “simple battery” and booked at a nearby jail.
His lawyer Martin Singer has released a statement on the incident, placing the blame on the photographer, and saying that the singer was trying to defend his girlfriend:
“The paparazzi provoked and caused the altercation that occurred with Louis at the airport this morning. This is not the first or last time that a paparazzi has created an altercation with a celebrity. While the altercation was going on with the paparazzi, three other individuals were attacking his girlfriend during this incident and he came to her defence, causing airport security to intervene.”
