Louis Tomlinson Slams “Bullshit” Report Citing Drugs & Gay Sex As Reason Behind 1D’s Split

On the nine year anniversary of our lords and saviours, One Direction, punters paid tribute to the lads on social media, thanking them for a magical almost-decade.

Articles popped up on many media outlets, celebrating the milestones of the boys’ career from forming on the X Factor UK to their iconic music videos to their eventual solo careers that slapped so hard, we feared the boys may never reunite.

But as usual, the British tabloids had to go and spoil everything with their trashy brand of journalism.

Notorious UK outlet Mirror Online published an article with the headline ‘Drugs, Meltdowns and ‘Gay Sex’ Rumours—How ‘Rivalry and Hatred’ Tore One Direction Apart.’

In the article, the writer made claims about the band’s drinking, partying and smoking habits, as well as shocking allegations about Zayn Malik‘s departure.

The piece also deduces that the band split as a result of the horny fan fiction depicting Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson as a couple, writing that “the ‘Larry Stylinson’ fan fiction” had “pushed them apart.”

Noticing the article pop up in his feed, Tomlinson fired back at the publication over their “bullshit” claim.

“Biggest load of bullshit I’ve seen in a while,” he wrote on Twitter. “Typical unprovoked venom from The Mirror. Couldn’t be further from the truth.”

The ~Larry Stylinson~ rumour has been following the band since their formation nine years ago and Tomlinson has been forced to shut down the notion on several occasions.

He previously tweeted a similar sentiment in 2012 when the matter was raised, writing: “Larry is the biggest load of bullshit I’ve ever heard.”

The ‘Just Hold On’ singer also took to Twitter after HBO’s show Euphoria aired a sexually explicit animated scene about the two stars, noting that he “was not contacted nor did I approve it.”

Still, Tomlinson made the most of his band’s anniversary, writing the following tweet to celebrate their nine years.

“So many incredible memories. Days like today are days for reflection, so proud looking back! Thank you for ALWAYS having our backs! Big love to the lads! #9YearsOfOneDirection”

And what a wonderful nine years it’s been.

Happy anniversary, bbs.
