The OBE was awarded by Prince Charles in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace where Minogue was joined by over 300 onlookers. “It is an incredible honour for me to receive this award. It makes me feel both humble and proud to be recognized for doing a job that I love so much,” she said.
Minogue first shot to fame in Australia’s breeding ground for aspiring pop stars, “Neighbours”, before dominating the pop charts locally.
Prominent in the 80’s? Check. Neighbours? Check. Aussie Pop Star? Check. Minogue’s success begs the question, can Jason Donovan look forward to an OBE in the not too distant future?
