Kary Perry had barely clambered down from her giant mechanical tiger at yesterday’s Super Bowl when people began analysing her performance, playing Spot The Taylor Swift Shade.
TBH, we barely remember the source of their ongoing pop star feud, but it probably involves backing dancers and John Mayer in some way. What matters is that Perry did indeed sneak a hella shady and creative Swift burn into yesterday’s show.

As the people at news and current affairs blog Hollywood Life (h/t Jezebel) astutely pointed out, the polka dot bikinis in the above picture are a direct riff on the polka dot bikini Tay-Sway wore in the other above picture.
To wit:
Katy seemed to deliberately put the high-waisted polka dot bikinis on backup dancers. Backup dancers were reportedly the cause of Katy and Taylor’s feud in the first place. Ouch.
The understated dig is also pretty much a direct reference to Taylor’s Cape Cod summer with Conor Kennedy in 2012. The “Blank Space” singer was frequently spotted out with the dashing gentleman and we’d never forget that red, high-waisted polka dot bikini she wore that summer.
Katy Perry, who has apparently rebounded from Diplo‘s docus, is now with Swift’s ex John Mayer, and blatantly waved around pictures of the two of them at a Super Bowl after party.

Melissa Arnette Elliott of Portsmouth, Virginia, was just really, really happy to be invited.
The best part of all this? A “source” told Hollywood Life that Taylor, when asked about the half-time show, replied “Missy Elliott had a great Super Bowl performance.”
Where will this highly entertaining and definitely not imaginary feud take us next?
