The good JoBro news – it never ends and for that, we are thankful. In an interview on Nova‘s Smallzy’s Surgery earlier tonight, the Jonas Brothers said they have their eyes set on Australia for a tour.
Absolute secret keeper Smallzy actually flew up to Los Angeles three whole weeks ago to interview the Jonas Brothers about their comeback. And, as it turns out, Australia played a part in the ~reunion~ talks.
Cast your minds back to 2018 and you’ll remember Joe Jonas was a coach on The Voice Australia and during that time, Nick and Kevin came down for a visit.
The brothers, who had been filming a documentary at the time, were already thinking about getting the band back together.
“Australia is a big piece of the puzzle because at that point we had been filming the documentary for about two or three months, and we started to unpack everything [the band],” Nick told Smallzy.
“It goes back a lot further because the way things ended back in 2012-2013 was really complicated as a family and as brothers, so it took some time to get into it all, and I guess unpack it before we were talking about writing music together, and performing again. I think the first thing was, could we actually do this and be healthy this time around?
“At that point in the filming of this documentary, Kevin surprised Joe and I by showing up, which is a big thing in our conversations, just the transparency of saying you know, your willingness Kevin to get on a plane and go wherever we might need to go in this new chapter, given that you’ve got a family and cut to a month and a half or two months later – at that point I was engaged so it was sort of like our realities were colliding and shifting, it’s just been insane – I think the biggest year of growth for us as brothers and a band.”
As their interview was about to wrap, Smallzy asked if the JoBros had anything else they’d like to say and that’s when Joe dropped the news.
“I think we have a lot to say but specifically Australian fans… we have plenty to say around the world but to our Australian fans, thank you for being so patient for the Jonas Brothers to come back around and to play a show there.”
“We have two promises,” Joe said. “We’re back, and we’re going to definitely tour Australia!”
He ! Promised !
