Despite looking like a damned bowling ball fresh out of the shiner, John Travolta has somehow found another way to make headlines at this year’s MTV VMAs ceremony by, would you even bloody believe, briefly thinking that a former RuPaul’s Drag Race star was, in fact, the actual Taylor Swift. It’s goddamned Adele Dazeem all over again, folks! Absolute anarchy!

Travolta and Queen Latifah were in the middle of presenting Swift with the award for Video of the Year for her efforts in the You Need To Calm Down clip.
A whole mess of dancers who performed in that video were brought onto stage with Swift to accept the award, chief among them was Drag Race season five standout Jade Jolie.
In footage that simply – SIMPLY – has to be seen to be believed, Travolta quite clearly mistakes Jolie for Swift and tries to hand over the coveted moonman statue. What is he doing, man! What is he even thinking!

Travolta, you’d remember, has a history of awards show debacles. At the 2014 Oscars he famously introduced Idina Menzel as “the wicked-ly talented… Adele Dazeem.”
You truly hate to see it happen again.
As far as both Jolie and Swift are concerned though, they took the whole thing in stride and have been celebrating the win pretty dang wholesomely.
