James Blunt Explained His V. Awkward Appearance On Last Night’s ‘Bachelor’

If you were watching The Bachelor last night, you would have appreciated the show’s special guest: none other than James Blunt himself, who graciously took time out of brutally roasting people on Twitter to serenade Matty and Elise. All very lovely.

You can see the whole section over at Tenplay if you feel so inclined.

People very much noted during the episode that the song Blunt was singing – Don’t Give Me Those Eyes – is not necessarily the most romantic tune, at least in the Bachie context. It’s about wanting / needing to break up with someone, despite the fact that coming through James Blunt’s pipes it might sound much more romantic.

It was also noted that he looked like he wanted to instantly evaporate into the floor. I mean, c’mon:

And Blunt noted that awkward tension. Speaking to Fitzy & Wippa this morning, Blunt confirmed that the subject of the song made it all a tiny bit awkward.

“It was quite awkward because I was singing a song which was saying don’t give me those eyes because this thing is over, this relationship is over. Done. Finito!” Blunt said.

“Here I am, sort of tearful, singing a song, crying away, while there are tongues down the throat.”

“And then I was like, here I am watching you guys. And then I suppose I got into it. I like to watch.”

Yeah you do, mate. Here’s the audio:
