This “modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales” really could go either way. It could be like every other CG-heavy attempt at a retelling and destined to slowly slip into obscurity and daytime television purgatory OR it could be a great ol’ time.
Signs (Meryl Streep) are pointing to the latter.
Having said that, Rob Marshall – the man who helmed the Academy Award®-winning musical Chicago and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides – is set to direct. Having said that, legendary composer Stephen Sondheim, will be jamming out the music and lyrics.
Into The Woods will be released in the US on the 1st of January, 2015, and also stars Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt, James Corden and Chris Pine.
