Heatwave or Shit-wave? The Adelaide-produced HeatWave Music Festival is being dubbed the Worst Festival Ever after a shopping list of operational blunders and poorly managed issues left paying ticket-holders enraged. At least four Facebook groups have been set up by angry punters calling for blood over the festival’s unprecedented shittiness: ‘HeatWave = Biggest Music Festival Failure ever’, ‘HeatWave = Biggest F*ck Up Of 2012’, ‘Fuck You Heatwave’, and People Who Were Screwed Over By The Douches Who Organised HeatWave which calls out the festival’s myriad failures:
- D12 failed to show up for half the tour, fans weren’t told until hours before SA show.
- Perth Cancelled, just hours before the start.
- Kerser pulls out of tour because he was being promoted for shows he was not asked to do.
- … Melbourne Liquor license not obtained despite advertising it as licensed, fans told hours before the start.
- Chamillionare does not show up for his set.
- Tech N9nes set shortened.
- Kid Cudi set stopped midway, trashes the stage.

The festival promoters have come forward to defend the complaints and released a statement that said, Despite a few media sites who have been riding us since day 1 and focusing only on the negative parts not the bulk of the festival which has been great! We know thousands of you had a GREAT time at a very affordable price.… Be that as it may, after feedback as disastrous as this if the promoters think they’ll be holding the festival next year they’re living in Crazy Town.
