Hell yes mates, excellent multi-instrumentalist and known Crocs wearer/influencer (?) G Flip has announced a run of massive Aussie shows off the back of her upcoming gigs at Lollapalooza, One Night Stand, and Sound On Festival, and before she shows up and shows out at Split Milk Festival in November.
After making a sneaky guest appearance onstage with The Rubens at Splendour In The Grass this year (and being spotted side stage watching her beloved Collingwood Magpies during Ruby Fields‘s huge set), this whip around the country sees Flipo playing some of the biggest rooms she’s headlined to date.
Kicking off in her finest Crocs in Adelaide on November 8, G Flip will take her About Us tour to Freo, Melbourne, and Brisbane, before winding it all up at Sydney’s Metro Theatre on November 22 – right when the nights are warmer and there’s a feeling of freedom and general stokedness in the air.
But maybe that’s just people from Melbourne (myself included) finally seeing and feeling the sun again after months of clouds. Either way, it’s prime Cros-wearing weather.
She’ll be taking her brand new, debut album About Us out on tour with her as well, which is set to be just wall to wall bangers that’ll make you wanna cry and dance and laugh.
And yes, this is very much her second Australian headline tour this year. I’m exhausted FOR her, at this point. The gal knows how to WORK.
If you’ve seen her live or watched literally any of her video clips, you’ll know that G Flip pours her absolute heart and soul into every performance, sometimes leaving herself sobbing behind her beloved drumkit, Jeromo.
G Flip a powerhouse, a whole band packaged into one woman, a ball of energy and excitement wearing odd shoes and oversized t-shirts. Her ascension to fame has done nothing but keep her humble and approachable, and she’s never hesitant to sit with you for a beer and a chat if you’re willing.
After catapulting into our lives with last year’s BIGSOUND festival, and her track ‘About You‘, G Flip has shaken off the imposter syndrome and is ready to hit it for six at the next tour.
“My beginner’s nerves are gone now and I’ll be debuting a new show full of HECTIC SHIT: new tracks, new arrangements and fun surprises here and there,” G Flip said.
“I just wanna have fun with you all and give you a bloody good time.”
Tickets for the tour go on sale from 10am local time on Friday August 2 from G Flip’s website, and she’s holding a couple of cheeky presales for her newsletter subscribers and her Spotify fans.
Get right around this one folks, I daresay you won’t see G Flip in venues this intimate again.
