As the weather slips closer to winter down here in the Southern Hemisphere, our friends up on the northern half are gearing up for summer, which means summer festival season is ramping up. Lollapalooza 2019 is the latest to drop its lineup and not only is it a bloody solid few days, but there’s a couple of Aussies in the mix too.

Slamming through four mammoth days in sublime American summertime, Lollapalooza has pinned Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, Twenty-One Pilots, The Strokes, The Chainsmokersb, J Balvin and Aussie offerings Tame Impala and Flume as its headliners.
Imagine that; Flume drops his first music in nearly three years and the same day he’s announced as a headliner for one of the biggest festivals in the US. What a life.
Those with a keen eye will note that it’s not just Tame and Flume who are over there repping Aus – RÜFÜS DU SOL, G Flip, Dean Lewis, FISHER, and Willaris K are also on the lineup, which just shows that Aussies are bloody destroying it over in the US at the moment.
Other inclusions on the lineup that have made me half spit out my morning coffee include Tenacious D (???) and Diesel, also known as Shaquille O’Neal‘s DJ project. (!!!)
And if you don’t believe me, here’s Shaq on the ones and twos right in front of your very eyes.
Also on the lineup are huge players like Death Cab For Cutie, Shek Wes, H.E.R., Denzel Curry, Maggie Rogers, Japanese Breakfast, and fuckin’ Slash, of all people. Just to make your weekend shred a little harder, I guess.
Tickets for the four-day, eight-stage, 170-odd band festival are on sale now over HERE, so if you happen to find yourself in Chicago at the start of August, you know where to be. Get right around it.
