Tunelord Flume Just Dropped A New Single On Top Of His Surprise Mixtape

It’s March and 2019 is truly the year of Flume already, as the Aussie producer who’s always somehow two steps ahead of the beat has dropped a single ON TOP of the Hi This Is Flume mixtape released last week.

Friends‘ is the first proper single from Flume since Skin, his last big release back in 2016. The new track dropped this morning with Ben & Liam on Triple J, and my pals, it’s a cracker of a track.

Recorded in LA and featuring Reo Cragun on vocals duties – who is an up and coming rapper in his own right – Flume melds together trap beats with hard-edged PC glitch-pop and his trademark saccharine synths creating an anthemic bop that’s probably going to be the soundtrack for every road trip, festival campsite, house party, and rager from now until his next Big Banger.

If you listen really carefully, you can pick up a tiny little hint of what I suspect is the following track – we’ve got a full-flowing EP or album on our hands here, people.

Where 2016 and Skin had ‘Never Be Like You‘, 2019 now has ‘Friends‘, and if this is anything to go by, that headline spot at Lollapalooza this year is going to be a bloody big party.

With Splendour In The Grass‘ 2019 lineup being announced next Wednesday, I’d hedge a bet that we might just see the return of Flume to the winter weekender festival at North Byron Parklands.

Check out the new single below, and be prepared to put this one on a loop for a good while. As expected, it fuckin’ slaps.
