Cat Power, aka mega-babe of the indie music scene since time immemorial, hasn’t been around all that much lately. Which is why it’s pretty damn exciting that she chose Christmas Eve 2011 to release her first new track in what seems like forever, especially given that her last all-originals album dropped way back in 2006 before we even knew what a meme was. ‘King Rides By’ sees Chan Marshall (that’s her real name, lads) attempting to play every instrument because she doesn’t want to just be a frontwoman no more. Also, this video goes for seven minutes and features legendary boxer Manny Pacquiao working out on a speed bag in slow motion pretty much exactly in time with the beat. Awesome.
