Boyband Five Reunion Tour Announced For Australia. No, Really.

It’s the news you probably haven’t really been waiting for!

Five, the boy band mainly known for not being quite as good as the Backstreet Boys or N*Sync, have announced that they’ll be Slam Dunkin’ The Funk in Australia later this year, as their “Big Reunion” tour makes the trek down under. Everybody Get Up.

Forming in the prime boy band year of 1997, Five (no longer stylised as 5ive – lord knows why they’ve given that up) actually enjoyed some success, selling 20 million records worldwide and scoring eight top ten singles in Australia. But the lights went out on the group after member Sean Conlon suffered a nervous breakdown due to the stress of being in the band in 2001, and the group eventually disbanded. After a brief (and unsuccessful) reformation in 2006, they’re back!

Five (minus one member, Jason Brown, making them, like, Four, I guess?) appeared last year on UK documentary series The Big Reunion alongside other relics of our childhoods vintage pop acts like Atomic Kitten, 911, B*Witched, Liberty X and Honeyz, which brought together the members of each band for “two weeks of intense rehearsals”, before they all took to the stage for a comeback performance at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Dates and venues for Five’s The Big Reunion Tour are below, If Ya Gettin’ Down. Catch them before they fade back into such obscurity that they can’t even make it past the audition stage of The Voice UK.
