Txt Yr Older Brother, Because Motor Ace Just Announced A Reunion Tour

In the grand tradition of simply never allowing a broken-up band to remain broken-up forever, early 2000s Australian alt-rock megaliths Motor Ace have today announced a 20th anniversary tour that’s sure to get anyone who ever owned a Juice hoodie fired the fuck up (author’s note: This very much includes me).

One of the most popular Australian acts of the turn of the millennium, Motor Ace’s debut album Five Star Laundry remains an absolute cracker, and produced a swathe of hit singles including Hey DriverAmerican Shoes, and Death Defy, which wound up being used as the theme song for the stupidly popular Channel Ten series The Secret Life of Us.

The group hasn’t toured together since 2005, with a DVD of their final-ever show being released in 2010; this tour marks the first time the band has played live together in any for since then.

The 20th anniversary tour – not billed as an album tour, but still carrying the promise of being “A Five Star Reunion” – is set to take in Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne across March and April next year.

Tickets are already on sale and are moving at the speed of light by all accounts, so you’re gonna want to get in quick. Although large gaps in the tour schedule suggest additional dates could be added down the track so keep yr fingers crossed, etc.

The full run of dates looks as follows.

Friday March 29th – The Gov, Adelaide SA
Saturday March 30th – Capitol, Perth WA
Friday March 5th – Factory Theatre, Sydney NSW
