Bloc Party just released “Octopus” the first single off their first album since 2008 and, as promised, the band have changed direction from the electronic sounds of previous release Intimacy and returned to the driving indie-rock of their earlier (and arguably better) material.
Back in January Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke said, “I think the people that will be into indie music now will be the people that love it. That’s somewhat liberating. We can do whatever we want now and people will come to it on its own terms. I’m excited about the idea of making rock music again.”
Listen to “Octopus”, the band’s first release on new label Frenchkiss Records.
