K-pop fans around the world are absolutely losing it over the news that BLACKPINK will become the first-ever female Korean pop act to perform at Coachella.

Even if you’re not so familiar with K-pop, you might recognise BLACKPINK as the wildly popularDDU-DU DDU-DU’ singers. No big deal or anything but the music video for the tune has more than 582,000,000 views on YouTube. Not to mention, it was uploaded six whole months ago and fans are still leaving daily comments on the video.

In other words, the four-member group is huge.

BLACKPINK will take to the stage on April 12 and 19.

You can suss the whole lineup below.

Korea will also be represented by indie band HYUKOH while J-pop (Japanese pop) will leave its mark on the festival when Perfume perform. They’ll both be playing the fest on April 14 and 21.

BLACKPINK will be the second Korean pop group to perform at Coachella, joining the lads from Epik High who took to the stage back in 2016.

Just look at this thread to see how bloody excited fans are.

Leading this year’s 2019 lineup are Ariana Grande, Childish Gambino, and our very own Tame Impala.

Taking to her social media, Grande shared she was “humbled and excited as all hell” to headline.

As for some other Aussie artists, expect to see Mansionair, Anna Lunoe, FISHER, and Rüfüs Du Sol.

Passes for the Californian fest will drop this Friday, January 4 at 11am PST. That’s 6am AEDT Saturday, January 5 for us so you have an extra day to aggressively convince your mates to grab tickets with you… and start searching for flights.
