In huuuuuuuuuge news for the BTS Aussie Army, the boys have just landed their first No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart – their first No. 1 in Australia – with their shiny new EP Map Of The Soul: Persona. This is the first time a release sung in an Asian language has claimed the top spot on the ARIA Albums Chart.

This is the Korean boy band’s fourth Top Ten on the chart after Love Yourself  ‘Her’ claimed the No. 8 spot in 2017, Love Yourself 轉 ‘Tear’ scored the No. 6 spot in 2018, and Love Yourself  ‘Answer’ hit No. 9 in 2018.

The lad’s latest tune ‘Boy with Luv’ featuring Halsey, debuted on the ARIA Singles Chart at No. 10. The music video currently sits at an easy 171,619,436 views on YouTube.

Just generally, it’s been a massive year for BTS and K-pop. Most notably, BTS’ RM, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jungkook, Jin, and Jimin became the first-ever Korean pop group to present an award during this year’s Grammys. Last week, they completely stole the show on Saturday Night Live when they made their debut and again, became the first K-pop group to do it.

Across the pond, BTS are No. 1 on the UK Official Albums Chart and yep, they’re the first Korean act to achieve the milestone.

Meanwhile at Coachella 2019, BLACKPINK became the first Korean girl group to perform at the massive festival.

Persona is available on all your usual streaming suspects. Check it out on Spotify below.
