Fitzroy’s wonderfully diverse and increasingly popular watering hole, The Workers Club, will add yet another string to its bow this summer with the Saturday afternoon Blackbird Summer Market. What makes this different from your run-of-the-mill market/garage sale/attempt to flog off a moth ridden old shirts and call them ‘vintage’? Young and talented fresh-faced designers from in and around Melbourne will be bartering their goods, while Hounds of Love spin the decks and food and beer is practically given away at old-school prices.
