Beyoncé’s 2018 Halloween Costume Puts All Your Store-Bought Shit To Shame

Despite the fact that everyone with jobs put their costumes on and ventured out into the spooky-ass night this past weekend, today is actually Halloween. All Hallow’s Eve, baby. And because Beyoncé doesn’t compromise on calendars for the sake of a Saturday, Beyoncé waited until the actual, proper day (editor’s note: or the night before if you want to be a picky fuckin’ nerd about it) to reveal her 2018 costume, and true-to-form, it just about belts everyone else’s out of the park.

Beyoncé went all the way back to 1993 to recreate the iconic cover art for Toni Braxton‘s landmark self-titled debut album, as well as the artwork for the lead single Another Sad Love Song in a series of Instagram posts earlier today.

In doing so, Beyoncé paid tribute to the enduring star, stating she was “sending love and adoration to one of our talented legends.

Thank you for the countless bops. Your tone, your beauty, your range, and your God-given talent is treasured. Loving you always.

As if to rub in just how on-point her costumes really are, Beyoncé included the original source material alongside her Halloween style, and it’s scarily accurate. Which is pretty apt.

Prepare to have your mind melted over these. They are absolutely unreal.

Phoni Braxton. Even the wordplay is out-of-this-world good, for shit’s sake.

Halloween might be all well and good for the common man to dabble in, but then every year Beyoncé rocks up to remind you all that she’s playing chess while the rest of us play checkers.

Wouldn’t have it any other way, TBH.
