This week on “Collaborations I Didn’t Know I Needed”, some legend on the internet has dubbed the piano scene from The Aristocats with Lizzo‘s hit track Truth Hurts.
Just when you thought Truth Hurts couldn’t give you any more joy than it already has, a super fan with some serious video editing talent has taken it to a whole new level, and boy, it is amazing.
Self-proclaimed Lizzbian Brendan Carey shared the video on Instagram on Friday, where it was quickly reposted by Lizzo herself.
Lizzo shared the video on her Instagram with the caption “THIS IS BIG PUSSY ENERGY.”
The perfectly synced up video shows the adorable cats from Disney’s classic 1970 film singing along to Lizzo’s hit track that has taken the world by storm this year. This is, in fact, what dreams are made of.
“Now, please, darling, settle down, and play me your pretty little song,” the cat asks before Lizzo starts playing.
Carey’s work required a little reworking of the original animation, but it’s a pretty impressive job overall. And most importantly, it reminds us of how much of a cute film The Aristocats was.
I didn’t think I could love Truth Hurts more than I already do, but it turns out all it takes is adding some classic Disney into the mix and all of a sudden I’m even more obsessed.
