As she made clear to us all in her iconic bop ‘Successful‘, Ariana Grande is very, very successful – so much so that she recently pulled the biggest debut streaming numbers ever on Spotify with her newly-released single ‘7 Rings‘.
Mariah Carey‘s all-time classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You‘ was the previous record-holder for the most Spotify plays in the space of a single day, pulling in a fairly jaw-dropping 10 million of them last year on Christmas Eve.
Overnight, manager Scooter Braun announced that Ariana Grande had managed to beat that record on the very first day. “Official number are now in,” he said, revealing that the song had managed to rack up 14,966,544 streams in its first 24 hours.
Official numbers are now in- @ArianaGrande’s #7Rings now has the Spotify all time record for most streamed song within its first 24 hours with 14,966,544 streams!! 4 million more than the former record holder! History is being made! Congrats to the team & @ArianaGrande bravo!

‘Thank U, Next‘, which was in the headlines every day for what felt like months, was definitely going to be a tough act to follow, but ‘7 Rings’ just came and casually knocked it out of the park. You can check out the aggressively pink video for the song below:
The singer says she was inspired to write the song after a trip to Tiffany’s, in which she got tipsy on pink champagne and bought herself and six of her good girlfriends matching rings, and honestly, good for her. As a wise woman once said, you’re doing amazing, sweetie.
Ariana Grande has released three new songs in the space of the last several months, leading fans to believe that the follow-up to her last album Sweetener might not be too far off. We are fully ready to receive this blessing whenever it may appear.
