Ariana Grande has posted a sweet tribute to her ex boyfriend Mac Miller on what would have been his 27th birthday, taking to Twitter to write “miss u”.

Though she didn’t specify who she was referring to, her followers quickly pieced it together thanks to the date, and shared messages of support, reminding her to take care of herself and saying “he’s very proud of you.”
Mac Miller died at his home in his Los Angeles home on September 7 of last year, after a friend found him unresponsive in his room. His cause of death was later determined to be an accidental drug overdose.
He and Ariana Grande dated for around two years before their breakup in early 2018. She has paid tribute to him numerous times since, calling him an “angel” in the lyrics of her song ‘Thank U, Next‘. Many believe her song ‘Imagine‘ is also about him.
Around a week after his death, she posted a lengthy remembrance on Instagram, saying:
“i adored you from the day i met you when i was nineteen and i always will. i can’t believe you aren’t here anymore. i really can’t wrap my head around it. we talked about this. so many times. i’m so mad, i’m so sad i don’t know what to do. you were my dearest friend. for so long. above anything else. i’m so sorry i couldn’t fix or take your pain away. i really wanted to. the kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved. i hope you’re okay now. rest.”
