Anthony Albanese Skolls A Tinnie, Revs Up The Rockdogs At The Community Cup

The Reclink Community Cup is a goddamned Melbourne (and now Australian) institution. Having held its 21st incarnation yesterday, the annual clash between the Megahertz (comprised of local and community radio and media broadcasters) and the Rockdogs (made up of active and notable musicians) is held in Melbourne annually during the AFL‘s split round, raises a heap of money for charity, and is generally a balls-out fun, positive, friendly event that attracts crowds of upwards of 20,000.

But at its core, it is still very much a serious sporting contest between two rivals desperate to lift the cup at the end of the day.
And what does every good team need prior to a year-defining game? A bloody good rev up speech in the sheds.
Enter, Labor MP Anthony Albanese, who not only revved up the Rockdogs pre-game, but casually smashed down a tinnie of Mountain Goat Summer Ale with Hawke-like efficiency.

ALBO YOU BEAUTY!
As Tex Perkins apparently shouted out after Albo successfully slammed the biz, “It’s Prime Ministerial!
At this point, if Bill Shorten wants to worm his way back into Labor-voting hearts, he’s probably going to have to enter Parliament carrying a Wizard Staff roughly his own height.
But for those keeping score at home, Albo’s pre-game rev didn’t work. The Megahertz took out the Cup in a canter, downing the Rockdogs by a score of 9.10 (64) to 5.7 (37)
