Adelaide Is Going To Be The Hottest City In The Whole World Today

To anyone currently not in SA, spare a thought for our friends Adelaide-side today because, according to the United Nations, it’s going to be the hottest city in the whole entire world. The only other cities topping the list were all Australian, including Canberra where it is expected to reach 40C, Melbourne 44C and Mt Gambier 45C. Climate Change: Activated.

Just to put it all in perspective, the highest temperature ever recorded in the world was 56.7C in Death Valley, USA, and the highest temperature ever recorded in Australia was 50.7C, in SA.

ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, Yuk!

Meanwhile, Adelaide already holds the record for the hottest temperature ever recorded in an Australian city after it reached 46.1C back in 1979. So, if this is some sick quest to beat your own record, Adelaide, it looks like it’s going to be a raging ‘success’.

The exceptional temperatures have had serious consequences for some Australian residents, with extreme conditions plus strong winds meaning fires are still burning at Rockleigh, east of Adelaide, and at Delamere, south of the city; there is a total fire ban declared across the state. We hope you, yours and your property is safe and fire-free.

We’ve compiled a list of tunes apropos for sweating out your day, and some cool-down cuts – for aspirational purposes. Before we get to it I’ll leave you with the immortal words of Do The Right Thing DJ, Mister Senor Love Daddy: Y’all take a chill. You got to cool that shit off. And that’s the double-truth, Ruth.
