Well here’s some news you probably weren’t expecting to hear on an ordinary Thursday morning: Channel Seven, in all their infinite wisdom, has this morning officially confirmed they will be reviving the cult hit comedy series Fat Pizza for an all-new season, which marks the first new episodes of the show in some 12-odd years.

7Mate will air the new series, entitled Fat Pizza: Back In Business later this year, with a handful of the original cast – including lead Pauly Fenech – set to return to the series, along with a handful of characters established in Housos.
Additionally, the series is championing a string of “celebrity” guest appearances from the likes of Jean Kittson, Brendan Jones, Anthony Mundine, Angry Anderson, Holly Brisley, Chris Franklin, and George Kapinaris.
For quite obvious reasons, Rebel Wilson isn’t involved in this particular reboot.
Fenech issued a statement along with this morning’s official announcement, promising “bigger” and “cheesier” storylines that will be “straight from the headlines.”
“Fat Pizza is one of the boldest Aussie comedies on television. Get set for bigger and cheesier storylines straight from the headlines. Social media trolls, get ready to rumble!”
Can’t think of any time that baiting social media has ever gone wrong for anyone.
Classic characters confirmed to be returning to Back In Business include Sleek the Elite, Bobo, and his beloved Mama from the original series, as well as Shazza, Vanessa, and Kev the Kiwi from Housos.
Fat Pizza: Back In Business is reportedly in production now, and will air on 7Mate before the end of the year.
