Netflix’s New Romcom ‘Falling Inn Love’ Is Absolutely Your Next Cheese & Wine Flick

Falling Inn Love

You guys, Netflix has been absolutely spoiling us with dumpster fire Hallmark-esque movies and I love them so much. Sometimes when I’m having a rubbish day, I put on Secret Obsession and it just fixes everything. Now we’ve been gifted another one, a romcom called Falling Inn Love.

FALLING INN LOVE. That name alone is so cheesy, it just triggered my lactose intolerance.

The flick stars Christina Milian as city girl Gabriela, who loses both her job and boyfriend in the same week. During one particularly boozy night, she spontaneously enters a contest and wins a rustic inn in New Zealand. I love it so much already. Wanting to get away from her depresso life in San Francisco, Gabriela excitedly accepts the win only to discover The Bellbird Valley Farm is in pretty shit shape.

Enter handsome as hell Jake Taylor (Aussie lad Adam Demos), a local contractor and volunteer firefighter who’s amused by Gabriela’s city-girl culture shock. Jake’s always been interested in the inn though so he agrees to help Gabriella flip it. Et voila, your Friday night is sorted.

Falling Inn Love hits Netflux August 29. That’s a Thursday.

It’s so unoriginal but I am absolutely going to watch the shit out of it.

In the meantime, there’s this other Netflix romcom called Good Sam. I think I fell asleep halfway through but when I woke up it was still going and I caught up real quick.

The gist: a mysterious good samaritan keeps leaving $100,000 in cash on seemingly random doorsteps across New York City. TV reporter Kate Bradly (Tiya Sircar) sets out to discover who this good “Good Sam” is, turning her personal life upside down in the process. Good Sam also stars Chad Connell as a firefighter – a common theme in these movies.

The flick is 10/10 a Watch While Your Scrolling sort of thing.
