The Cast Of ‘Drag Race All Stars 3’ Has Been Announced And We’re Gagging

Don’t mind us, we’re just over here hyperventilating into a paper bag and sobbing with excitement because the cast of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 has officially been announced, and a whole heap of our favourite queens are coming back-back-back again.

The All Stars 3 line-up has been one of the worst-kept secrets of recent times, and today’s casting announcement confirms many recent leaks, but assuming you don’t spend all your time trawling Drag Race subreddits (we’ll forgive you), here’s who you can expect to see!

The first queen to be confirmed was Season 9’s Aja, who seems to have jumped the gun, tweeting her picture out a few hours before the official announcement. That’s a classic Aja manoeuvre right there.

She was a little rough around the edges in her year, but will forever hold a place in our hearts thanks to her iconic “you’re perfect, you’re beautiful, you look like Linda Evangelista” moment, and hopefully she gets a chance to redeem herself this time around.

Next up were two queens from Season 6, which is low-key the strongest one and our favourite season. The terminally delightful Ben DeLaCreme is making a comeback, and so is Milk, whose wildly bizarre and creative looks continue to give us life.

After that came perhaps most controversial inclusion – Season 2 queen Shangela, who came back for another crack in Season 3, and is popping out of the box yet again to compete in All Stars. Shangela is a hugely talented comedian and a force to be reckoned with so the other queens better watch out.

Season 8’s Thorgy Thor was next up, and then came fan-favourite Season 7 queen Trixie Mattel, who has gone on to enormous success with her YouTube series Unhhhh, and will soon host a Viceland show alongside partner in crime Katya.

Also from Season 7, the show announced the return of dancing queen Kennedy Davenport. Just FYI, we’re fairly certain she crystallised, and is now a glamazon, bitch, ready for the runway.

Season 8’s gorgeous Louisiana queen Chi Chi Devayne was next – a highly underrated competitor in her year, she served up critical amounts of sass and turned some killer looks on a budget. We’re hoping her time in the post-Drag Race spotlight has turned her into an even fiercer competitor.

The last All Stars brought back Tatianna from Season 2, and while her Ariana Grande impression was … not great, she was still kicked out way too soon. Let’s hope that her fellow Season 2 queen, OG badass Morgan McMichaels, fares better this time around.

At this stage, only these nine queens have been announced. There were rumours that Season 6 top-four contender Darienne Lake would be returning, although this morning’s announcement made no apparent mention of her, so it remains to be seen whether we’ve been duped, or whether she’ll return as some kind of surprise competitor.

In short, though, what we have here is a really, really, really strong lineup, and any of these queens could be a serious contender to snatch the crown. Host and creator RuPaul said: “Expectations are high, and these mighty queens do not disappoint … These girls are talented, hungry, and ready to do whatever it takes.”

All Stars 3 is set to premiere in 2018.
