Blake Lively Drops Another Look From Her Spy Thriller ‘The Rhythm Section’

Blake Lively’s been a bit of a busy bee lately what with all the promotion for A Simple Favor, Deadpool 2, and now The Rhythm Section.

Talk of the film has actually been around for a little while now and if you’re a lover of all things Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds then you’ll recognise the film immediately.

It’s this one:

If you haven’t sussed the film then things can be a tad confusing because of all the different costumes. Then, the film was delayed because Lively injured her hand doing a stunt in Dublin last December so we all kind of forgot about it a little. But as Deadline reported, production picked back up in Spain last month which brings us our next ~ lewk ~ from the film.

And of course, the caption is an extremely vague “I spy with my little eye….”.

Tagged in the post is director Reed Morano – you might know her as the director and producer of the first three episodes of Handmaid’s Tale, the Academy Awards-nominated Frozen River (2008), and Beyoncé’s Lemonade TV special back in 2016.

In other words – this film is in good hands.

The Rhythm Section, based on the debut novel of the same name by Mark Burnell, is about a woman whose family members are violently killed in a supposed plane crash. To investigate, Stephanie Patrick is trained to be a bloody assassin by the intelligence service and resumes the identity of others… which explains the handful of looks.

As a prostitute, she is Lisa, the chemical blonde. Later, she is Petra Reuter, German anarchist turned mercenary terrorist. Sometimes, she is Marina Gaudenzi, a Swiss businesswoman, or she’s Susan Branch, an American student, or Elizabeth Shepherd, an English management consultant.

Sterling K. Brown and Jude Law costar while current James Bond producers, writers, and cameo-makers Barbara Broccoli and her half-brother Michael G. Wilson will produce the film. Wilson has worked on every single James Bond film since Moonraker (1979).

Again, this film is in good hands.

The Rhythm Section is due for release February 22, 2019.

As for A Simple Favor – well that mystery thriller will be out September 14.

Based on another novel of the same name, the flick tells the story of another Stephanie (Anna Kendrick) who is asked by her best friend, Emily (Lively),to pick up her son from school when she can’t make it in time. Afterwards, Emily suddenly disappears and Stephanie takes it upon herself to figure out what happened to her.
